Joseph Lerner Portrait
Joseph Lerner is a Canadian composer, writer, producer, conductor and strategist. He began his journey in the world of music through learning the rudimentary and fundamental principals of music at the age 8 through private lessons. Later on Joseph Lerner continued his education at the Glenn Gould Professional School of the Royal Conservatory of Music. His professional and practical education in composition, conducting and production were perused by taking masterclasses, workshops, symposiums and seminars in North America and Europe. Some of the professional musicians and music industry leaders who assisted Joseph Lerner in shaping his practical knowledge and skills have been Srul Irving Glick, Dr. Samuel Dolin, Prof. John Weinzweig, Maestro Richard Schumacher and Prof. Novin Afrouz.

Joseph Lerner is the current Music Director of the Prater Orchestra. In addition, he is the co-founder of ABA Music and Arts Centre. that is a music and arts learning centre in North York, Toronto. Joseph Lerner has been active as a political strategist, journalist and promoter in the arts and entertainment industry. He has interviewed numerous high profile community leaders, artists and celebrities such as Anton Kuerti, Gino Vanelli, Ann Medina among many others. In the past, Joseph Lerner held the position as Chair of Millennium Arts Society's International Competition for Composers and Music Director of the Tonal Virtuosi Orchestra. In addition, he has served as the North American Liaison and Operations Manager for the Masterplayers International Music Festival in Switzerland.

Joseph Lerner born in 1972 in Tehran, Iran is the recipient of numerous letters of recognition by dignitaries as well as internationally recognized scholarships and awards such as letter of recognition by The Honourable Jason Kenney Canada's Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, letter of recognition by The Honourable Aileen Carroll Minister of Culture, the First Composition Award at the Kiwanis Music Festival for his Capriccio for Oboe, the Masterplayers International Music Academy's Achievement Award and the Pickering Metro East Music Festival Achievement Award.

Joseph Lerner's extensive writings cover a diverse range of subjects from human experiences to politics. In addition, he as a strategist collaborated with businessmen, politicians, community leaders and artists in various industries throughout the world. During the 2007 Provincial Election Joseph Lerner acted as the Communication Analyst-Strategist for the Liberal Party of Canada.
 
One of Joseph Lerner's most well known pieces is Capriccio for Viola recorded by Teng Li (Principal Violist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra) and Li Wang (Gold Medal winner of the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition and Chopin International Piano Competition).
 
His works have been premiered and recorded by the artists such as Mark Skazinetsky (Associate Concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra); Teng Li, Li Wang, Prof. Senya Trubashnik (over 100 solo recordings with Radio Luxembourg Symphony, EMI and Decca labels). In addition, Joseph Lerner's Intermezzo for Piano and Capriccio for Oboe have been recorded at the Ettore Mazzoleni Concert Hall.
